Form a research question based on topics found in one of the following chapters in the book, or on the film:

Chapter 12 - “Marked Bodies”

Chapter 15 - “Crossing Cultures”

Bigger, Stronger, Faster (Steroid use in sports)

Use information from the textbook and/or film, plus outside research, to support your argument. MLA documentation style must be used for sources.

Examples of research questions:

What are the long term effects of optional plastic surgery procedures (breast augmentation, nose jobs, etc., now becoming more common) on teenage girls?

What is the difference (in fairness, etc.) between players receiving optional surgical enhancement procedures, techniques such as high altitude chambers, and steroids? Should they be judged differently?

Length: 1200 word minimum, (6 pages, double spaced, 12 point type)

1) Make sure that your topic is clear and not too general, but focused enough to handle in a short paper.

2) Research and present both sides of the opinions concerning your topic.

3) While you should consider both sides, you should give your opinion, based on your research.

4) Include at least three sources, using MLA documentation and a Works Cited page.

5) Make sure your paper meets college-level writing standards with respect to the following items: purpose, audience, focus, organization, paragraphing, development and details, clarity, style, grammar, and mechanics.
