With the end of the Mubarak era looming on the horizon, speculation has turned to whether the Muslim Brotherhood will dominate the new Egyptian political landscape. As the largest, most popular, and most effective opposition group in Egypt, it will undoubtedly seek a role in creating a new government, but the consequences of this are uncertain. One of the parties that will suffer a lot in order to be truly known is the Muslim Brotherhood. In spite of their violent past and the extremist militaristic position they adopted many years ago, they reorganized themselves to be a centrist religious political movement. Some people till now still oppose them and think that they have never changed, and they will not be able to change as long as they have this religious perspective. Actually, they have to understand that Muslim Brotherhood’s role in the Egyptian revolution is undeniable. They were a key success to this revolution. After the revolution, many power struggles have taken place. Many parties are trying to reach the throne. Nowadays there are fears that Muslim Brotherhood want to take over Egypt; however they have a central goal of reviving a political Islamic country ruled by Islam and informing people who they truly are using different communication strategies. Although the Muslim Brotherhood had a violent past, it has contributed to the Egypt’s revolution to shape its future.
Muslim Brotherhood originated as an anti-system group dedicated to the establishment of sharia rule; committed acts of violence against its opponents in the pre-1952 era; and continues to use anti-Western, anti-Zionist, and anti-Semitic rhetoric.
