Some Moral Minima…
Lenn Goodman argues that there are certain things that are simply wrong. I
think that Goodman is right. Slavery, Polygamy, and Incest are just a few that
Goodman argues that are wrong. In “Some Moral Minima” I trust Lenn Goodman
is accurate when he says “certain things are simply wrong.” I agree with Goodman
on these matters because there is never a decent interval to kill for the sake of
killing, rape for the sake of instantaneous desire, or take others individual’s rights
away for the sake of attainment, admiration or prosperity. Lenn Goodman
principally debates that every person whether it be a man, woman, or child has the
veracious to live and be free from any and all cold-hearted behavior. Goodman’s
main empathetic is not to be quick on arbitrating things we don’t comprehend, but
to judge those things that are not ethically right. I believe that all individuals are
equivalent and have the right to live their own lifetime.
As for the violators they should have no rights to commit these heinous acts.
Who are we to judge anyone? Why should certain individuals have the right to
murder, rape, or take away rights from others because of self-centeredness,
gluttony, and possessiveness? However, there are certain cultures, and individuals
that disagree with Goodman’s ideas. Why? Why would anyone want to disagree
with ideas that save people’s lives and leave them in respectable standing? I
believe that people who disagree on these ideas may base their decisions upon their
upbringing/culture. Why? There isn’t any culture in the world that commends
