Right To Work
If Michigan would have agreed to becoming a right to work state back in the 1960s, Michigan could have up to 60,000 more auto-related jobs according to the Grand Rapids Press. Creating jobs in Michigan is easy, make Michigan a right to work state and businesses will come to Michigan and employees will have the freedom to chose if they want to join a union instead of forced to joining. Making Michigan a right to work state would greatly improve the quanity of jobs and letting workers chose if they would want to join a union or not. Michigan loses thousands of jobs because big businesses don't want to deal with controlive unions, and workers don't get the freedom to say no to unions.
Unions are organizations that force employees to join or they won't be able to get a job. Being an American we work hard for our money, we should be able to chose if we want to join a union or not. Our freedom is being taken away. Businesses in America don't like being controlled by harsh unions and instead of coming to Michigan, travel to one of the other 22 states that are right to work. Unions require members to pay a part of there paychecks to the union and its not fair to employees who were forced to join the union. Currently some unions in Michigan are at General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Delphi, Whirlpool and some Johnson Controls plants. Forcing employees who don't want to join a union isn't fair and people deserve to chose if they want to join a union or not.
Becoming a right to work state would allow employees to decide if they want to join a union or not. It gives freedom to employees who don't want to join. Currently there are 22 states who have implemented the right to work law. If you resign from a union membership, you are still fully covered by the agreement between your employer and the union. Becoming a right to work state also can have some down sides. Wages wouldn't be payed as well as they do today but it is worth it if there were more...
