PHD THESIS AWARD 1. Aim The PhD Thesis Award is aiming at (a) promoting research on psychological assessment; (b) offering recognition of significant work in the field; (c) supporting young researchers to continue their work on psychological assessment during the first years of their career; (d) encouraging young researchers to become members of EAPA 2. Description of the award (a) The PhD Thesis Award is a recognition to be announced in the forthcoming biennial EAPA conference and in the Newsletter along with 1,000 euros and a two-year membership dues to EAPA, even if the recipient is already member of the association. (b) The recipient of the award is also invited to present his/her PhD thesis (10 minutes) at the opening ceremony of the biennial EAPA conference and, therefore, EAPA will waive the recipient’s registration fee to the conference and offer him/her up to 500 euros for travel costs and accommodation. 3. The award is announced to the EAPA members and nominations are invited in a two-month period with a specific deadline. This deadline will be about six months before the international conference of EAPA. 4. Nominations are made by the interested person him/herself or by the supervisor of the nominee. 5. Nominations should be collected by a member of the EC who is appointed by the EC as chair of the "PhD Thesis Award" committee. The committee comprises two more members of the EC, as well as two senior EAPA members external to the EC. All five members are appointed by the EC. The members of PhD Thesis Award committee should preferably be different from those of the EAPA Award committee. 6. Eligibility criteria for "PhD Thesis Award" nominations: (a) The PhD thesis should have been defended within the last two years before the Award year (year of the forthcoming EAPA conference).
