Chapter 1: remembrance

"Bravo!" I hear a voice say in the background after I finish my piano melody. "Hey Sis, what do you want?" I said while closing my piano. "What song was that? It was amazing!" she said with an amazed look on her face. "It was Kuusou Mesorogiwi; mom always played it to me. I have been practicing it for a while. Anyway, you didn't answer my question, what do you want?" I said with an annoyed tone. "I need a favor; can you go shopping for dinner tonight? I still can't cook like mom used to, so be nice to me even if it turns out bad," she said while scratching the back of her head. "Yeah I will, and I might need a gurney after I'm done eating." I said laughing, "Shut up!" she said as she threw a spoon at me. "Oww, I was only kidding!" I said rubbing the bump that was forming on my head. "You better be! Or next time it'll be a knife!"

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, that's Mizuki. She's my little sister and is in high school. She has little temper tantrums from time to time, she has long dishwater blonde hair that she always has in a ponytail. She is about 4'6" and she's going to graduate in a couple of months. My name is Shiro and I'm a collage student at Misaki City University, I'm about 6'1" tall and I have dark brown hair that goes down to my neck, it also get in my face some times. Anyways, Mizuki has been taking care of the house on her days off. Things have been tough ever since our mother passed away. Our father left for the war when I was eight and Mizuki was five. We found out two years later that he was shot and killed in battle. My mom died from a car accident last year. Mizuki and I have been living by ourselves ever since.
