Inconvenient Truth Movie Review

1) Greenhouse gases are gases in an atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range. This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.

While many greenhouse gases occur naturally and are needed to create the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to support life, human use of fossil fuels is the main source of excess greenhouse gases. By driving cars, using electricity from coal-fired power plants, or heating our homes with oil or natural gas, we release carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere. Deforestation is another significant source of greenhouse gases, because fewer trees means less carbon dioxide conversion to oxygen.

2) The atmosphere is in a constant state of energy imbalance due to the unequal amount of absorption of solar radiation for innumerous reasons.

3) He became interested in global warming when he took a course at Harvard University with a professor who was one of the first scientists to measure carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

4) The reason for that is that changes in solar output in the earth's orbit causes slight increases. This causes some initial warming which begins to release the CO2 trapped in ice which starts a chain reaction until the ice has melted or some other natural phenomena triggers a cooling. It is a feedback cycle. In the past, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the CO2 in the ice caps has been relatively stable. Nothing was producing more CO2 than was being absorbed.

5) Al Gore discusses the possibility of the collapse of a major ice sheet in Greenland or in West Antarctica. He also discussed about the glacier melt in Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa. He shared about what happened to Argentina. He also told the people about what happened at Muir Glacier in Alaska.

6) After his defeat in the presidential election by George W. Bush, Gore returned his focus to the topic. He edited and adapted a slide show presentation he had compiled years...
