Abstract

This paper is a study of globalization in light of increased outsourcing by transnational corporations. In line with this, a brief literature on globalization and outsourcing was carried out by the researcher. The study adopted historical approach rooted in works done in the case study . The method of data analysis was qualitative, specifically based on the analysis on articles and research reports on globalization. The paper therefore finds out that globalization has both positive and negative impact, they both have their gain and loss We therefore recommend amongst others that globalization should be encourage by all nations and countries across the globe but they should be a balance between the develop and the developing countries.

Globalization is the prevailing notion that pertain to world wide integration of government policies, cultures, social movements, and financial market through trade and exchange of ideas; a borderless world in which culture, trade, commerce, money and even people freely move from one place to another (Schaefer, 2006;60)

This is the world where satellite television, cell phones, internet and the likes allow information to flow freely across the world borders and serve to link global markets. With this in place, corporations in the industrial nations have become multi- national, with both factories and markets in developing countries. These multi- national firms have co-operated with global financial institutions, organizations, and government to promote free trade- unrestricted or lightly restricted commerce across national borders.
