Global Warming Speech

1.

Imagine, the northern continents frozen

wastelands, the ends of the earth,

perishing. Imagine, the sickly thought of

being swallowed up by seething lava –

it’s not as impossible as you might think.

Global warming is happening, and the future,

our future, does not look bright.

2.

‘The Day After Tomorrow’, a movie made

portraying the end of the world, was a

huge blockbuster success, however movie

critics claimed it was too far-fetched

to be a legend in the tough movie making

businesses of today.

But now scientists are saying that

the movie isn’t in fact as far-fetched as

first thought. It has been said, that ‘The

Day After Tomorrow’, is a revelation, of

what might actually happen, if the horrific

realities of global warming ever reached

their final stages.

The alarm bells have already begun ringing.

Unless every nation, in the world, takes

immediate action to combat climate change

in a certain number of years, Earth, could

become completely uninhabitable.

This is the raw truth uncovered! We are

being warned now, so we can change the

future – for the good of our planet!

Over the past 100 years the average global

air temperature has risen by more than 0.7oC.

This may not sound like much change but even

1 degree difference can have a dramatic

effect on the Earth.

Since the temperature is steadily rising, the

Arctic Sea ice is melting. The thickness of

Arctic icebergs are about half of what it was

50 years ago.

4.

With the ice melting at this speed sea levels

will rise as much as 85cm in the next century.

This is a huge threat to people living near the

coastlines, wetlands and reefs. Due to the

icebergs melting in such a heavy capacity,

this could one day change ocean currents,

having a devastating effect on marine

ecosystems.
