Recycling Waste is a Waste

Introduction

Recycling paper and glass has become a weekly American ritual; little do Americans realize but they are actually wasting their time. Twenty five years ago you would collect your recyclables, bring them to a drop off center and get paid for your services. Today Americans put your recyclables on the curb and pay your city to take them away. When the recycling is taken to the facilities the plastics, papers, bottles, and boxes Americans are attempting to recycle and was thrown in the recycling bin, is not even all recycled properly. Recycling is a waste of effort, time and money for the everyday American.

Recycling

Every day, America spends time throwing unwanted items either into their garbage cans or depending on the material their recycling bins believing they are being resourceful. Then usually every week these same people go out to their garages, grab the garbage cans and recycling bins they have been organizing their unwanted trash into, and carry or wheel them down to the edge of their curb in the front of their houses believing they are bettering their environment for themselves and others. People all over America drag all the plastic they saved up during the week to the curb so they can be picked up and recycled. What they don’t know is that most of the materials they have put into these recycling bins will not be recycled.

Fifty percent of the plastic put out for pick up will not be used for recycling. When people see plastic they normally believe that it can be recycled. With all the different processes and different resins used in the production of all the different types of plastics recycling for some of them is simply just not a viable option. Many companies find the added expense of having to prepare the plastics for their product not to be worth the expense.
