When I tested a theory!
A time that I tested a theory was at my house. It was a cleaning theory, about my microwave. The kind of informal research that I used was studying the subjects to see what was cook, did it splatter everywhere, did it boil over, did they use a plate, and if it made a mess did they clean up after themselves. In doing so what I was trying to prove was the “no one ever cleans that darn microwave, but me”. This is like the biggest pet peeve that I have how can you open a microwave and see baked on food and burnt food and still cook your food in it? Eww, that is so gross; what if a piece flew in your food while it was cooking? We have two teenage boys 14 and 15 big enough to clean after themselves, but yet they just keep cooking their food in there without cleaning up after themselves. My research was similar to that of methods used by psychologists because they study and watch their subjects as well, they watch every move they make and keep track of it and the sometimes they try to intervene and make the situation correct. I watched and I saw who was making the messes and I let them know that I knew who was leaving the mess and I told them that they needed to clean the microwave after using it, if they make and mess because if they did not then they would not be able to use the microwave again for cooking, they would be treated as if they were not old enough to use it. If I was given the opportunity to go back and do things differently I would not because I believe that everything worked out well this time and the problem was solved.
