Football & Ice hockey
Sports have been an all time family past time for years. People young and old have watched, played or been a part of a sport at sometime in their life. There’s nothing like the sound of a cheering crowd when your favorite team scores a point.
Football is a team game commonly played in the United States and other countries. American football is a sport that consists of two teams of eleven players. With the objective of scoring points by getting the ball into the other team's end zone. It’s known in the United States as football, and is referred to as gridiron outside the United States and Canada. Either running with it or throwing it to a teammate can advance the ball. You can score points by getting the ball over the opponents’ goal line, catching a pass thrown over that goal line, kicking the ball through the opponent's goal posts or tackling whom ever has the ball from the other team in his own end zone.
Hockey is considered a competitive sport in which two teams of six play against each other by trying to get a puck into the opponent's net using a hockey stick and are allowed to redirect the puck with any part of their bodies. However they are not allowed to hold the puck in their hands and cannot kick the puck into the other teams net
In the United States, there are three forms of football; high school, college and professional football each have slightly different rules. Professional football is backed by and known as the National Football League (NFL).
Hockey is a world wide sport backed by many different associations, but the most popular U.S. association is the National Hockey League (NHL). The NHL is a professional league for men players. The CWHL, Canadian Women’s hockey league and the WWHL, Western women’s hockey league is the professional league for women in Canada, where the sport is most popular.
