SHOULD ROBOT REPLACE HUMAN IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
A Robot is a machine that is created by human to do certain jobs. Robots are also made to do some jobs which are dangerous and hazardous to be carried out by humans (eg. cleaning radioactive waste). Some Robots are also used in repetitive jobs like cleaning, filling in fuel. Nowadays robots are also used for education purpose. So in future, more of us will learn from robots.
Robot teacher initial cost is very high. Also, sometimes it can happen that some naughty students mess up the circuit and confuse the programme which can also harm the students. Robot teachers cannot understand the children’s feeling, emotions etc. They also cannot answer some of the specific questions of students as they were not programmed. They cannot make the class interesting. Also, my opponent can say that the robots do not take salary, but if they get defected the money spend will be more than the salary given to a teacher.
My opponent can say that Robot teachers would be a one time investment. You would simply upload software into the robot and program it to teach the students. These robots would only require upgrade software and a power source. You wouldn't need to feed or pay a robot to teach the students. My questions are: How does a robot handle disruptive children or a child that needs to use the bathroom? Can a robot tell when a child is suffering from some type of learning disorder?
My opponent can also say that Robots will be able to work for long hours. But my question is, will they teach with dedication? Will they work with devotion? How will robots work wholeheartedly when they don’t have a heart? (!)
If robots start replacing human in every field including teaching, we will have to deal with serious issues like unemployment in turn leading to mental depression, poverty and crime in the society.
