Amnesty InternationalRuben Cantu 1993: Cantu was involved in a murder burglary and was sentenced and executed without any any physical evidence, no confession, and the victim’s testimony. The victim when presented with pictures of possible attacker’s, including Cantu’s photo, he could not identify his attacker. De Luna had recently been released from prison and was at the scene of the crime, hiding under a truck. Amnesty InternationalCameron Todd Willingham 2004: Was home with his three daughters when his home was lit on fire. Willingham managed to escape, while his daughters perished. He was accused of trying to cover up his abuse towards the girls, despite the testimony given by his wife. And was deemed a sociopath for listening to Iron Maiden and Led Zepplin. Two witnesses also claimed that it wasn’t him who had committed the crime. His case was reopened 10 years after his execution, and he was found to be innocent. Amnesty InternationalLeo Jones 1998: Police charged him with the murder of Thomas Szafranski, claiming that he had confessed. Jones’ cousin, who was found with him at his apartment, claimed he saw Leo leave with a shotgun and that he returned after his cousin heard gun shots. In later years it was revealed by a retired officer that the police officer who arrested him, beat Jones after his arrest.
