My goal has never been to be average or to be like everyone else, but to stand out and make a difference in as many people’s lives as possible. I have made it my goal not to give into peer pressure and temptation but to strive to be the light in the darkness. One of our founding fathers, George Washington said “Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation, for it is better to be alone then in bad company.” Through out high school I have learned that our choices separate us. This became evident as some of my friends began giving into temptation and making the wrong choices. I am not willing to sacrifice my future just to fit in because I know that every choice I make affects the rest of my life. Though it has sometimes been difficult to stand alone, and stand up for what is right I have always relied on my faith and my family for strength and guidance. They have shaped me into the person I am today and I am very grateful for it. As I face new challenges and opportunities in life I know that God has been preparing me for what lies ahead and that he has the perfect plan for my life. I look forward to being the light wherever God takes me.
