1. Using the critical thinking skills you have gained and the materials provided for this assignment, identify two possible strategies that Thomas Hutchinson or Samuel Adams, or both, likely used to develop and improve his thinking prior to taking a stand and acting according to his beliefs.

I feel they both, more than likely, used the pros and cons strategy. Samuel Adams was an activist that believed in free will. A pros and cons argument would help him construct relevant scenarios to the way he thought things should be. I feel that he saw what Thomas Hutchinson was doing and believed the colonists should be free on British rule. Thomas Hutchinson did not always agree with the way the British ruled the colonies, but he did what he thought was the right thing by upholding the law. I also feel that they both could have used the strategy where you make the distinction between fact and interpretation.

2. Explain the importance of building a foundation for critical and creative thinking when evaluating historical events such as the Boston Tea Party.

It is important for everything in our life to have a foundation. You start building a house with its foundation; as with anything in life with any meaning. I feel that the foundation for critical and creative thinking is very important when evaluating historical events. Without the foundation, no one would read about the events and really comprehend them. For instance, the Boston Tea Party, critical and creative thinking skills come in to play when finding out the facts about any subject.
